SkyGrid is a Boeing, SparkCognition company enabling the future of mobility. Based in Austin, Texas, SkyGrid is delivering a platform capable of providing safe airspace operations, including unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) traffic management (UTM) solutions ? a key step toward integrating a significant number of autonomous air vehicles into the global airspace. As the first AI and blockchain-powered unmanned aerial operating system, SkyGrid is facilitating a wide variety of UAS-enabled services, including package delivery, industrial inspections, and emergency assistance. The SkyGrid team is looking for a Test Engineer to work parallel on interface with the engineering team and sign off on each software release before it goes to the public. This person will run field test and effectively write test plan documentation. This position requires an ambitious individual with strong creative and analytic skills who can contribute in a diverse team environment. Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience + 2 or more years of experience testing server-side applications + Experience testing backend services such as APIs, Databases + Python or equivalent system scripting languages + Previous experience with mobile app and web testing + Strong hands-on experience with QA methodologies, or prior QA experience + Analytical, disciplined, and creative problem solver committed to driving quality forward + Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose a resolution + Ability to adapt in a high-paced and informal environment + Confirmed bug detection and bug isolation skills + Act as a strong advocate for quality in the product development process for software engineering + DJI/drone experience a plus + Must be eligible to work in the US without restrictions + Must report to HQ in Austin, TX Responsibilities + Conduct field test across multiple software programs and products + Effectively report status and risks throughout the week + Document and ensure compliance with software test plans and define the environment, scope, methods, assumptions, and areas of risk. + Gather test requirements by reviewing specification and participating in live demos. + Clearly define the expectations with respect to test case creation, including format, location, and quality, by both participating in test case creation and test case review. + Liaison between team members executing test cases manually and those responsible for test case automation. + To prepare post-execution reports that summarize test results tests, provide an overall analysis of test coverage, and identify any necessary follow-up items.
