Coinbase is looking for a highly motivated accounting professional to join our Accounting team and play a key role in our continued growth and achievement of operational excellence. The Revenue Accounting Senior Manager will supervise a team and must possess deep accounting and operational expertise, an ability to communicate and work with various teams outside of Finance, guide teams and have a desire to make a meaningful impact on a dynamic, high-growth technology company. The ideal candidate is extremely detail-oriented, well-organized, has the ability to multitask, has outstanding written and verbal communication skills and thrives in a fun, fast-paced, results-oriented environment. Reporting to the Global Controller, the Revenue Accounting Manager will: Perform monthly revenue accounting close responsibilities related to our expanding Custody Business Unit including but not limited to: financial statement analysis and analyzing data against business drivers to identify trends / issues in revenue and expense recognition), Custody customer billing and collections, reconciliation of receivables, unearned revenue, contract liabilities and transactional revenue in accordance with ASC 606. Work cross functionally across Coinbase on policies, processes, and programs, help push key system initiatives and improvements including enhancements to our Revenue Reconciliation processes and efficiency and automation of the monthly close Maintain documentation on accounting for and performing periodic updates to the revenue recognition policies (including gross vs. net assumptions) as new products are launched and with new methods of delivery. Analyze and draft initial revenue considerations for platform/product tests and new planned product releases. Participate in launching of new revenue products, including the implementation of new systems, Provide support for internal and external audits. Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures with up-to-date process documentation and procedures for all tasks. Support ad hoc financial information requests and analyses and other special projects as assigned. What we look for in you: 8+ years of accounting experience with medium to large companies in the financial services industry (banking and/or payment services a plus) BA/BS in Accounting/ CPA required. Experience with accounting close processes and accounting systems, with proven track record of leading strategic projects combined with the ability to execute tactical project-level activities. Possess excellent analytic, business partnering, problem solving and prioritization skills. Technical data skills (e.g. SQL or similar), Netsuite and Google Suite products experience a plus. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate and digest mass amounts of data required. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Solid work ethic and team player. Prior supervisory experience.
