Product Line Architects shape product line technology development by testing new technologies with the potential to improve business outcomes. The incumbent?s deep knowledge of the product line technology coupled with their execution of regular test and learn activities enable them to bring business outcome improving technologies to their product line aligned with the overall strategic vision for Supply Chain managed by the RDE LT.

In the test and learn activity that defines their solution engineering role, they will be expected to broadly understand technology innovation opportunities and specifically how they apply to their product line. In the acquisition and application of this innovative thinking, they will work with the RDE LT (strategic alignment), RDE R&D team, external thought leaders, vendors, educational institutions and others inside and outside of the business. This leading-edge technology thinking will be tested, documented and, where appropriate, built into the product line roadmaps managed by the JJSC BT Product Line.

Product Line Architects will also be responsible for describing the current state of technology in a product line, identification of near-term efficiency and lifecycle opportunities, and the development of more aspirational target environments for the mid and long-term future.

Position Responsibilities include:

Deep product knowledge, understanding of the relevant technology in the marketplace and the application of architecture principles, such as agility through modularity should be reflected in these tests and learn activities.

The future state will provide technology direction for initiatives in the next business plan. It will also guide technology planning for initiatives within the long-range financial plan.

+ Ensures current state architecture is documented and communicated. This will include analysis and completion/correction of metadata describing applications and business services, technology and application lifecycle risk, analysis and approval of service level agreements, identification of gaps needed to support existing capabilities, and other related topics.

Optimally, these discussions will be conducted using reference architecture material already developed. If that material is new, unclear, or absent, it will be necessary to work with program teams to understand the architecture guidance applicable to their initiative. The consulting engagement should result in ?project ready? guidance for the project team and, where necessary, new or updated next generation architecture content leverageable by future teams.
