If so, lets talk.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesThe SRE/Systems Administrator is responsible for the implementation, deployment, configuration, technical setup and ongoing maintenance of the Maximo systems and related Maximo system components under contract with the Cloud Delivery Services team.The role requires ongoing collaboration with the Technical Delivery / Systems Administration Manager to execute on key, internal projects as delegated, focusing on operational delivery and efficiencies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:+ Configure Maximo instances and dependent components, aligning with the Cloud Delivery Services standards+ Deploy code fixes delivered from Application Support teams through the client environments+ Implement / Configure vulnerability fixes, Operating System level changes+ Modify physical infrastructure resources (CPU/RAM/Disk Capacity/Load Balancers) per instance within IBM Cloud+ Interact through tickets with IBM Cloud support when infrastructure level problems exist with systems+ Implement, Configure and Monitor System Level Backups+ Operate and perform Infrastructure and System Level Upgrades+ Conduct log analysis (application and system) and collaborate with others to troubleshoot issues with installed applications+ Provide feedback and system level evidence for blameless postmortems/Root Cause Analysis+ Participate in 12 x 7 on-call rotation schedule (expected to cover 1 week every 4-6 weeks, depending on team composition) as well as occasional evening and weekend work+ Assist and/or lead in further enhancements of automation tools+ Use internal IBM tools to manage day-to-day work tickets/tasks through the life cycle+ Provide ticket/task feedback and status updates to the team and clients as required+ Create scripts/processes/Run Books as required to help manage client instances+ Work projects as assigned by Technical Manager+ Mentor other squad members, taking initiative and providing technical leadershipRequired Technical and Professional Expertise+ Three or more years of experience in Java based application management running on WebSphere application server+ Experience and strong understanding of Linux based operating systems (Red Hat) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)+ Experience in a production and/or SaaS environment+ Knowledge of IT Service Management concepts (Service, Incident, Problem, and Change management)+ Strong experience and proven communication, presentation, organization and planning skills in a team environment and client facing rolePreferred Technical and Professional Expertise+ Degreed within Engineering or Computer Science+ Experience with configuration management, infrastructure as code (Ansible, GIT, Terraform)+ Ability to produce scripts in administrative language (Python, Shell)+ Strong oral and written communication skills to productively interact with technical and non-technical users, and to write clear and concise, procedural and technical documentation+ Exceptional organizational skills/experience, with an ability to resolve issues, assign tasks, and escalate problems with proposal for further review, manage multiple priorities and adapt to additional priorities, working to compressed deadlines with minimal supervisionAbout Business UnitIBM's Cloud and Cognitive software business is committed to bringing the power of IBM's Cloud and Watson/AI technologies to life for our clients and ecosystem partners around the world.
