Compute North is seeking an experienced and driven Site Operations Manager to lead, and scale a facility located in the Big Spring, TX area. This Compute North facility is designed to support blockchain and high-performance computing applications, it is critical that we have a supervisor with overall ownership responsibility and experience in leading a team tasked with a diverse set of responsibilities and a technical understanding of mechanical applications, basic equipment maintenance functionality, maintenance operations and the technical aptitude to learn new mechanical and electrical infrastructure applications as it pertains to compute hardware support.The Site Operations Manager will be hands on, proactive, and responsible for all aspects of the site operations and will work closely with other Compute North Operations Teams, appointed partners, and vendors to maintain high reliability and performance of the facility while delivering best in class services to our customers.ResponsibilitiesDevelop a team atmosphere with a proactive approach to all business needs with respect to the site team and all operational details.Assist in the establishment, work directly with, and supervise the site operations team responsible for the customer service, planning, installation, maintenance, and optimization of hardware and supporting mechanical, electrical, and network infrastructure.Assist and support site development and constructions teams as necessary with the development of the site.Work closely with teams that affect and deliver services to site operations such as network operations, project management, facilities/maintenance management, logistics and supply chain operations to successfully deliver and maintain site capacity to support ongoing business growth.Mentor and develop techs so that they can support daily operations with minimal supervision.Identify creative ways to keep operating costs to a minimum.Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of site operations.Consistently deliver services in line with published Service Level Agreements (SLAs), such as:Infrastructure availability and uptimeInstallation and onboarding timeframesOnsite service response timesServe as point-of-contact for all site operations.QualificationsTechnical and maintenance understanding of pumps, fans, piping, electrical distribution, mechanical principles and heat transfer.Basic understanding of MS Office programs, computer hardware, connectivity and network wiring.2-4 years of leadership experience in technical or facilities operations or other data center/mission critical environmentsEducation in an engineering or technical discipline preferred.Strong leadership qualities and hands on technical experienceBasic understanding of mechanical & electrical infrastructure and operations.Flexibility, including the willingness and ability to readily respond to changing circumstances and expectations.Open to innovation, new ideas and procedures.
