Role Overview

The Senior ServiceNow Platform Owner leads a team of technical team members to solve complex Business needs and problems utilizing ServiceNow and modern cloud software technologies. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for architecture, design, and demand management within the ServiceNow platform. The primary focus will be on integrating and consolidating ServiceNow instances along with automating manual processes within the enterprise environment, improving productivity, efficiency, reducing errors in manual processes and workflows throughout Collins Aerospace. As the ServiceNow Platform Owner you will be responsible for all aspects of the team and implementation of the Service Management platform, ServiceNow, and the overall health of the Platform. You will be one of the primary Subject Matter Experts for ServiceNow, ensuring our solutions are reliable, improvements are implemented, and that the team leveraging the platform to its fullest potential.

The Service Management Office is expected to work closely with other members of the management team, business teams, and vendors to ensure the effective execution of the ITIL Processes within Collins Aerospace.

You will manage all aspects of the Architecture and development processes, including building and executing on the program roadmap, working with process owners and service providers to identify and manage Continuous Improvement projects and maturing the overall platform capability. You will also oversee projects and initiatives that are part of the ITSM program.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the consolidation of multiple Service Management tools into 1 instance of ServiceNow
  • Integrating and/or e-bonding to multiple ServiceNow instances
  • Develop, Define, and clearly communicate product strategy and roadmaps, KPIs, and measures of success
  • Influence stakeholders and gain consensus for product strategy and milestones, building visual and other artifacts to assist in key decision making.
  • Manage and mentor the ServiceNow development team, facilitating their continued professional growth, foster teamwork and manage performance. Expect to manage a team of approximately 6 to 8 employees both onsite and in remote locations
  • Oversee the design, configuration, deployment and changes to ServiceNow infrastructure components (web servers, databases, plug-ins, integrations, etc.)
  • Directly manage and lead senior, mid and junior developers. Must ensure they are successfully executing specified designs to the industry best practices and internal standards set for the development team.
  • Specify non-functional software requirements and analyze all requirements to determine design feasibility within time and cost constraints.
  • Will utilize AGILE processes, methodologies, and practices (SCRUM) to maximize continual service improvement and cost reduction initiatives
  • Initiate testing procedures for all environments by enabling of the artifacts, test conditions and enable support for integration and quality assurance testing.
  • Write business and technical requirements documents and user stories which would include process flow charts, logic diagrams, and other documents
  • ServiceNow Patch and Major Version Upgrade deployment and support
  • Carrying out quarter ServiceNow Patch upgrade activities and Major Version upgrade with customer and team without any misses.
  • Manage installation configuration and deployment changes in production and non-production environments and coordinate testing activities
  • Education:

    This position requires a Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 8 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.

    Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of ServiceNow platform required, people management experience required
  • The ability to work cross functionally to negotiate and resolve conflicting situations and priorities.
  • Ability to solve multi-instance problems, complexities, and has a skill set in multi-instance consolidation
  • Ability to prioritize, and multi-task in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with customer service focus with exceptional attention to detail, organized and self-starter.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Energetic and have an excellent work ethic
  • Desire and ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with manufacturing and distribution companies
  • Experience or coursework with infrastructure and applications
  • Professional experience developing applications using. NET, C#, REST and SQL is desirable.
  • ITIL Certified
