Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or other related engineering discipline, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree. Agile experience preferred.3-7 years related experience is preferred. Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

The opportunity we can offer is one-of-a-kind.We apply advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native and Quantum Physics to solve our customers missions in cyber, RF, undersea, interstellar space and everything in between.As a Advanced Systems Engineer supporting Landsat Operations, your efforts will help the team prepare the Landsat Multi-mission Operations Center (LMOC) and flight operations products for the transition of Landsat 8 into the LMOC. These efforts cover the full systems engineering life-cycle starting with ground system design development, transition readiness testing, shadow operations, and final operations transition. When supporting ground system design and development, some of the activities you may support include requirements definition and analysis, requirements management, interface development, ground subsystem integration, test procedure development and execution, requirement verification, and build release support. When supporting mission readiness some of the activities you may support include flight procedure design, development, and testing, mission readiness testing with the flight observatory, mission simulations, simulator setup and operations, test procedure development, test execution against simulators and flight hardware. When supporting real-time operations during shadow ops and transition, some of the activities you may support include spacecraft command and control exercises, telemetry monitoring and analysis, and anomaly detection and resolution.What you'll experience:Learning and understanding new technologies for future tech refreshes and solution proposalsExperiencing implementation of IT best practices and mitigating fault toleranceDesigning solution diagramsfor solution proposals using Microsoft VisioInstalling, configuring, and writing ansible playbooks for automation supporting infrastructure production environment or new solution proposalsExperience with other Atlassian supported products and plugins (Confluence, GitHub, Xray, SPLUNK, etc.)Development of automated scripts (i.e. Script Runner)Supporting solution upgrades and new solution deploymentsWhat you bring to the table:A Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, a related specialized area or field and a minimum of 2 years of relevantexperience or a Master's degree; Agile experiencepreferredSolid knowledge of systems engineering concepts, principles and theoriesSolid knowledge of requirements management and system modeling toolsSpacecraft Engineering and Operations knowledgeFamiliarity with technical standardsJIRA design and administration duties including: importing data, designing work flows and independently troubleshooting issuesAbility to contribute to the design, configuration, testing and incorporation of new element into the current JIRA solutionAbility to contribute to technical trades and formulate decisions to inform customer on the best way to evolve operational processes for National Aeronautics and Space Administration/North Oceanic and Atmospheric AdministrationAbility to configure the system for metric-based decision making (highly desired)Experience troubleshooting system anomaliesWhat sets you apart:Creative thinking with the ability to multi-taskAbility to quickly grasp and apply new informationEffectively handle complex assignmentsAbility to clearly recognize and report relevant to sound systems engineering design
