Reporting to the NAFTA Finance & Purchasing Chief Application Architect, the SAP Solution Architect will be responsible for the solution and functional designs for SAP and ARIBA architecture across the Finance and Purchasing processes areas.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Understanding the SAP product evolutions and roadmap to be able to propose the proper solutions and promote the SAP Footprint extension
  • Identify opportunities for rationalization and process redesign to increase system reliability and efficiency
  • Provide solution design across applications like SAP ECC, SAP SRM, SAP SLM, ARIBA and ability to build processes flows across applications and functions
  • Provide strategy and solution design to make the applications mobile friendly
  • Manage SAP Products licenses and be the interface to the global team for negotiation with SAP
  • Reviewing application upgrades and cloud migrations as necessary in coordination with the operations team
  • Supervise the technical solutions aspects and define guidelines for system configuration and development
  • Contributing to the building of SAP solutions for the long-term Local and Global vision for the Finance and Purchasing platforms like S4HANA
  • Working closely with IT business relationship team to assess business needs, acquire business process knowledge, help the prioritization and supporting Business cases behind strategic programs and critical initiatives.
  • Define how the SAP applications interact with each other
  • Define how to use newer technologies like RPA, ML and AI, Blockchain with SAP
  • Lead the design of multiple simultaneous projects at Local and Global level
  • Provide practical plans to implement functional architectural changes
  • Analyze application design and performance metrics and propose improvements and redesigns
  • Define how the applications interact with each other, with databases, servers, and external systems to provide the complete functional solution to business requirements
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 years of IT experience across varied customers and industries, with preference to automotive or similar industry
  • Minimum 5 years of SAP experience with progressive growth in design and implementation roles
  • Capable to build end-to-end business processes across multiple applications, identifying the proper architecture and able to propose also solutions outside of current FCA spectrum of applications
  • Understanding multiple SAP Systems (ECC and ARIBA), modules and the integration points between systems, functional areas
  • Comprehension of the technical aspects of SAP applications capabilities including but not limited to Solman, middleware, EDIs, ETL and EDW applications
  • Good understanding of the new SAP offering, strategy, and direction with direct exposure to the HANA platform capabilities
  • Experience in translating business process requirements into SAP solutions
  • Experience in architectural planning and development in the SAP product ecosystem
  • Multiple SAP Life Cycle implementations
  • Business understanding of the purchasing and finance business processes
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • SAP Certifications
  • Experience in SAP Ariba implementation
  • Deep understanding of SAP products and competencies related to UI development and workflows
  • 5 years' experience leading technical teams
  • Experience in BPM, data warehousing, reporting and BASIS
  • Usage of non-SAP products and technologies in the areas of Portal, Data warehousing, ETL, Mobility, Integration middleware & SAP Security
  • Deep understanding of the network components and network security
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written with the ability to translate complex technical strategies into terms that are easily understood
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Ability to translate a long-term strategy into a series of evolutionary steps
  • Understanding of SAP design principles and ABAP programming standards
  • Ability to work in a global environment
  • Consultative team player that can assess conflicting viewpoints and opinions to define alternatives and move the team forward to a consensus
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels in the organization from the developer through executive
