RESEARCH SCIENTIST, Media Lab-Digital Currency Initiative, to join a highly collaborative team of researchers and staff who bring together global experts to take on challenges in cryptocurrency and digital currency design. Responsibilities include building up long-term defenses against potential layer-1 bugs in Bitcoin by, for example, supporting modularization efforts and researching safer programming paradigms and languages; preemptively investigating, monitoring, and strengthening the software against attacks; improving automation, writing new tests and security tools, and decreasing reliance on scarce experts; and researching the long-term economic security of cryptocurrency systems.
