The healthcare industry continues to face profound change that's driven by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as evolving regulations, expectations and capabilities.


Hospitals and health systems are working to improve patient care while reducing the burden on healthcare providers. Payers and governments are working to improve outcomes by obtaining a more complete view of each person they serve. Life sciences companies are working to quickly bring safe and effective medicines to market. All of these groups are trying to manage costs. Healthcare technologies - such as health information management, security solutions, cloud, healthcare data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain - are helping organizations address these challenges today and to prepare them to meet the demands of tomorrow.


The Healthcare Global Business Unit brings comprehensive, end-to-end solutions to the healthcare industry to support best practices and reduce costs. Oracle's healthcare-specific industry applications help ensure quality care and decrease patient safety concerns through the integration of clinical data and the ability to analyze patient-specific information.

Our developers and architects work with cutting edge technologies and interact seamlessly with our healthcare industry experts in product management, sales and support teams. We are spread across the world and are looking for developers to work on next generation open, standards based products and solutions for the healthcare industry.


As a member of the Healthcare Global Business Unit development organization, you will specify, design and develop enterprise software and implement major changes to existing software architecture. A successful candidate will be a strong team player who is able to work across multiple functions and disciplines. The candidate should be self-directed and have experience and knowledge of software design, coding, and testing methodologies.


  • 6+ years experience of solid implementation experience with Java, webservices (REST, SOAP), RDBMS and Oracle PL/SQL
  • Strong understanding and experience in Oracle database indexing, optimizer, query and memory tuning and effective partitioning, analysis of AWR, ADDM, ASH, SQLTRPT, AWRRPT, TKPROF reports
  • Experience with continuous integration frameworks like Jenkins is desired
  • Some experience developing web applications using HTML, jQuery, XML, JSON, JavaScript, CSS
  • Experience working on Cloud based solutions with modern cloud technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, MicroServices
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies
  • Coach and mentor junior developers and introduce the team to new technology trends in industry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively remotely.

Desired knowledge in the following is a plus:


  • Has solid hands on experience in healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7(V2, V3 and FHIR), HIPAA, EDI, IHE profiles such as PIX/PDQ, mPIX/mPDQm
  • Understanding Master Data Management/EMPI solutions, Patient centric FHIR standards
  • Experience with design/developing data standardization techniques
  • Experience with design/developing data matching techniques

Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.


As a member of the software engineering division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.


Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
