The DDI Labs Team is hiring a project lead to help us drive fast moving innovation projects in multiple areas of our business. This includes moving new potential product and business ideas through a three phase process. This starts with looking at the market potential for the new concepts, rapidly experimenting with those that look promising, and, for a select few, developing a minimum viable product that gets put out for sale in the market.
You don't have to be a product management expert to do this job, but you do have to be willing to learn a lot quickly, focus on the things that will have impact, and drive things to completion. We want strong, diverse teams built from different backgrounds, experiences, and identities. We're ready for the ongoing work that goes into building an inclusive, supportive place for you to do the best work of your career. Our workplace and benefits are designed to support a sustainable, healthy relationship with your work.
Our team is primarily based in Atlanta and Pittsburgh, but you can work from anywhere so long as you can design a normal working day with 4 hours or more that overlaps with the eastern time zone. Nomads welcome.
About the job:
DDI Labs is an innovation lab within DDI that works on some of the most exciting cutting edge, new concepts in the market today. While new stuff is exciting stuff and it's easy to get passionate about solutions, we make decisions based on data, and we find things that make money for the business. We try stuff quickly, we keep what works, and we leave the rest -- no matter how much we might have personally love it.
The flip side of working on new technology and finding new solutions is that it means there is a lot of ambiguity. This means there won't be a step by step guide for doing what we do. It also means that you often must be determined and resourceful, especially when people tell you that something isn't possible or would be hard to do. The team will be there to support you ever step of the way though, so we will figure it out together. Here are some examples of projects you might work on:
* Exploring the application of Virtual Reality technology in helping leaders to rapidly increase their skills
* Develop new service models for matching coaches with leader at client organizations and putting tools at the figure-tips of those coaches
* Discovering how wearable technology can be integrated into a leader's work experience to help with providing them the right guidance at the right time
* Investigating the application of blockchain to the leadership development context and determining what the possibilities might be
Bringing new solutions to the market requires a variety of skills and areas of responsibility! You won't have them all, and that's fine. A solid understanding of business, a strong sense of creativity and perseverance, the ability to learn quickly, and some solid analysis skills will pave the way.
In broad strokes, Managers of One thrive at DDI Labs. We are committed generalists, eager learners, conscientious workers, and curators of what is essential. We are quick to trust. We see things through. We are kind and we support each other. We achieve together.
You'll probably have a degree that has exposed you to some combination of project management, analytical work, and or product management. We also value people who can take a stand, yet commit even when they disagree. We subject ideas to rigorous debate, but remember that we're here for the same purpose: to do great work together.
