In this role, you could be involved with our client's decision-making process by serving as a front-line interface to users with technical issues and conducting systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies. Your duties may include installing new software, troubleshooting, granting permissions to applications and training users. You"ll also be responsible for the day-to-day support of server services by performing server administration for physical and virtual server operating systems and configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting of physical and virtual hardware and network related interfaces on servers. We"ll rely on you to perform, maintain, troubleshoot and conduct a complete analysis of alerts; create scripts to automate repetitive processes; and work with customers to identify, isolate, and resolve problems with servers that are affecting other services.

Job Requirements:

Okta Systems Administrator you will:

  • As a member of the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team this position will contribute towards execution of an IAM roadmap that meets security requirements, including but not limited to security for, a complex Active Directory (AD) environment, hybrid cloud deployment, mobile computing, fine grained access control, policy driven security, SSO, user provisioning/de-provisioning, and federation focusing on multiple protocols (SAML, OpenID, Oauth)
  • Implementing, integrating and supporting Okta's cloud technologies into IAM environment.
  • Migrate applications from current IAM system to Okta Cloud solution
  • Contribute to solution scoping and effort sizing with cross-functional teams
  • Help the teams understand how Okta works, and the various technical use cases of the platform
  • Provide well-thought out and reliable advice and troubleshooting for application development with Okta APIs
  • Acts as a technical mentor for team members and directly assists with complex issue response and resolution
  • Serves as Okta technical SME
  • Work with IAM team to identify and implement new Okta processes and procedures as the environment changes/evolves
  • Cross functional team member supporting account lifecycle, federation, SSO, operations functions
  • Creating and maintaining a roadmap for Okta implementation/future integrations/new capabilities
  • Evaluates existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features
  • Develops technical documents to accurately represent application design and code
  • Recommends coding fixes to resolve outstanding issues and work to enhance applications to automate business process as best possible
  • Plans and executes Okta application onboarding with cross-functional teams
  • Breaks down "barriers to progress" & motivates less experienced members of the team to action
  • Performs other duties as directed

Ideal Background:
  • A Bachelor"s degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced understanding of server based operating systems
  • Subject matter expert (SME) with the ability to mentor others on administrating the server environment
  • Enhanced troubleshooting skills within the server OS as well as both networking and storage technologies
  • Hands-on experience developing, deploying and supporting large-scale enterprise server solutions

Required skills:

  • Development and operational experience using Okta services, including implementation, configuration & administration of services and components.
  • Experience migrating applications between identity systems and implementing them using authentication standards such as SAML, OIDC, OAuth, Multi-factor Authentication (MFA), Kerberos.
  • Strong experience with Identity Lifecycle Management (provisioning, de-provisioning, JML flows)
    Experience configuring Active Directory, LDAP, SSO, SAML or WS
  • Cloud Platforms and Services
  • Single Sign On models / Web Server & App Server session management, DNS, DHCP
  • History of providing work direction and leadership to others
  • Proven understanding of solutions development methodologies (e.g. DevOps, Agile, Software Development Lifecycle, etc.)
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and complex problem-solving capability
  • Solid presentation, oral/written communication, and inter-personal skills including the ability to: anticipate, influence & adapt to a wide range of audiences; cultivate relationships and leverage organizational understanding to facilitate decision making and buy-in
  • Proven experience developing solutions to extremely complex, cross-domain, problems requiring significant business acumen, technical knowledge, ingenuity, creativity, and innovation
  • A history that illustrates flexibility and adaptability to changing business needs and shows the ability to recognize need for change
  • Proven track record of being capable of working with significant uncertainty, resistance, barriers, issues and challenges; converting uncertainty into quantifiable impact, risk and mitigating actions
Required Education :
Bachelor"s degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience.
