We promote an entrepreneurial spirit and work hard to ensure that every employee is a valued and passionate part of our team.A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A NETWORK ENGINEER / SOFTWARE PROGRAMMERAs a Network Engineer / Software Programmer, you play a critical role in helping to grow, scale, and build our infrastructure in support of our customers and growth. This involves designing, implementing, and maintaining the data center network infrastructure. You actively manage the design and maintenance of the network in all aspects, including LAN, WAN, VPN, routers, switches, and firewalls. Using modeling and analysis, you create and scale a geographically diverse, high-performance, and integrated network. You implement patches and various applications in order to maintain the infrastructure.As needed, you troubleshoot systems and network issues, address complications, and implement solutions. You manage our system backups and related data recovery protocols as well as network access, use, capacity planning, resource utilization, and more. According to our company needs, you implement security measures across both hardware and software. You are conscientious about keeping all required documentation up to date. Additionally, you establish the "best practices" for your role. You find your job to be highly engaging and an important step in your IT career!QUALIFICATIONS FOR A NETWORK ENGINEER / SOFTWARE PROGRAMMER4+ years of experience in IT, network administration, or a related fieldHands-on experience in the configuring, basic architecture, and setup of the IT network elements needed in data centersDeep understanding of network protocols, Internet architecture, and networks for cloud computingKnowledge about advanced router and switch configuration and controlKnowledge about software programming, including scripting languages such as Python, as well as basic web programming, virtual machines, and cloud network servicesStrong understanding of data center infrastructure and operationsA bachelor's degree in engineering, network administration, computer science, IT, or a related field is preferred but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. Knowledge about SDN and NFV as well as a basic understanding of network security would be a plus.Are you self-motivated? Do you have the curiosity and drive to continually increase your knowledge?
