If so, lets talk.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesA Cloud network services engineer who designs builds, deploys and maintains high availability network and next generation network security operations in a heterogenous IBM Hybrid Cloud environment. Must be able to master deployment of next generation technology systems and services. Must have solid , demonstrable skills in, and understanding of , IBM Cloud networking and infrastructure .+ Network engineering & management of complex TCP/IP Cloud based network infrastructure in a heterogenous multi-vendor environment, with a heavy emphasis on IBM Hybrid Cloud, Cisco Systems, Palo Alto Networks , Infoblox+ Design build, deploy and maintain high availability network and next generation network security operations in an IBM Hybrid Cloud environment.+ Assure optimized and robust daily network operations for cloud network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, WAN/Internet connections, VPN, Cloud network connections and operations)+ Deploy, maintain and manage Next Generation security platforms (Firewall/IPS) and network security compartments.+ On all systems maintain, apply and assure a strong security posture, currency levels and compliance according to IBM Security standards and requirements. *+ Drives Engineering and Operations Excellence, and adheres to industry best practices.+ Monitor, troubleshoot, mitigate and resolve cloud network infrastructure problems and service interruptions.+ Drive new deployments, including proof-of-concept and next generation installations for hybrid cloud based environments.+ Iteratively improving existing systems and infrastructure to better meet the needs of the Network Cloud operations+ Automate processes and workflows to increase the operational agility of the Cloud network engineering operations.+ Analyze data from tools to determine areas of improvement, determine and implement the necessary changes+ Help drive engineering and operational excellence and adhere to industry best practices.+ Ability to adapt to the new software-driven technology with experience on software defined networks+ Drives IT and networking capability improvements through optimization, enhancements and implementation of new features and functions; Improves and Enhances Existing Environments+ Collects data, then supplies it to engineering peer teams for analysis and data-driven recommendations and decision making+ Collaborate and maintain strong working relationships with IBM partners, stakeholder, vendors, IBM Cloud and Research Emerging Technology+ Master and utilize various IBM and vendor network utilities+ IP address and subnet management+ Create and provide recurring network reports based on network statistics and analytics+ Network Change, Configuration and Performance ManagementRequired Technical and Professional Expertise+ Bachelor's degree in Network, Cloud Network Engineering, Computer Science or related program+ 3-5 years of experience in a TCP/IP based Network Engineer/Architecture position with a focus on Cloud Networking+ Skilled Implementing Cisco based network infrastructure and services in a Cloud environment (switches, routers, firewalls/IPS, VPN's, IPSEC, SSL, IKev2)+ Skilled in Network Security operations, including configuration and deployment of Cisco and Palo Alto based firewall and ips in a Cloud environment(Cisco ASA, Cisco NextGen Firepower, Palo Alto NextGen)+ Experience with network routing protocols, BGP, OSPF, MLPS+ 3-5 years of demonstrated, solid knowledge and deployment experience in cloud based networking environments.+ 2 years Experience with Unix/Linux administration and with scripting/coding.+ 2 years Network Automation skills focus on Cisco technology (RestAPI, Ansible, JSON, Jenkins)+ 2 years Programming skills with a focus on python, golangPreferred Technical and Professional Expertise+ Network and Cloud certifications (Network CCIE will be a plus) or equivalent practical experience+ 5-7 years of experience in a TCP/IP based IBM Cloud or IBM Hybrid Cloud Network Engineer Role+ 5-7 years of experience deploying advanced cloud networking systems and architectures.+ 2-3 years experience working with Infoblox Appliances+ 2-3 years experience working with Cisco based network service and authentication platforms (PRIME, ISE).+ 3 years Experience using Ansible+ 3 years Experience successfully collaborating across a diverse group of world wide, remote teamsAbout Business UnitWith more than 3,000 researchers in 12 labs located across six continents, IBM Research brings together hundreds of researchers who possess unparalleled industry expertise to address some of the world's most challenging problems.
