THIS POSITION REQUIRES AN ACTIVE TOP SECRET CLEARANCE AT TIME OF HIRE!

Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required or equivalent experience.

Additionally, applicants must meet the eligibility requirements for a controlled billet in accordance with DoD Instruction 5210.42 Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

You'll support the development of program required security documentation, including items such as security plans, contingency plans, and security tests plans and procedures in compliance with IA policy. The Network Engineer executes and supports security testing and evaluation to ensure the correct implementation of security requirements. What you bring to the team:

A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related specialized area or field or relevant experience

Clear understanding of systems engineering process, concepts, principles, and theories

Clear understanding of the verification and validation process

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

Maintain network integrity and connectivity; ensure compliance with information security policies and maintain system backup and recovery capability.

Assist in managing the usage and performance of voice, video and/or data communications networks.

Managing networks with industry standard platforms, Network Performance Analysis, Cisco IOS Network Configuration, and Network Troubleshooting

Accepts direction from superiors.

Integrates well in a team environment.

Works as individual contributor using defined resources to meet project requirements .

Gathers and organizes data for review with appropriate engineer(s) in support of a project.

Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting and repairing of devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems.

Prepares and coordinates the plans and schedules for new or existing programs.

Resolves proposal preparation problems and assesses the progress against established plans and parameters.

Formulates and recommends corrective action measures such as schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, fund allocations, and work requirements.

Participates in engineering teams supporting experiment design, materials, equipment setup and maintenance.

Provides technical expertise to customers, users or company personnel directly at field sites.

Develops, implements, installs, tests, modifies and/or operates complex network equipment and associated systems.

Develops test plans and preventative maintenance programs.

Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the system.

Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required or equivalent experience.

Current or within six months of hired required to obtain the DoD 8570 Certification, IAT Level I (Comptia Security+ CE and 1 qualifying Computing Environment certification (For example, Microsoft MCP certified, Comptia A+)

Must meet the eligibility requirements for a controlled billet in accordance with DoD Instruction 5210.42 Personnel Reliability Program (PRP)

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Experience with VMware management and virtualization products.

CompTIA Networking+ / CCENT, CompTIA A+, CCNA, Enterprise Desktop Support Technician, MCSA

Active Directory, Group Policies

Familiarity with configuring/troubleshooting servers, Cisco Routers/Switches, VLAN Routing, TCP/IP, and security protocols.

Networking Technologies (DNS, DHCP, WINS)

Database Management (Oracle, MySQL)

Familiarity working under or a part of configuration management, and or change management controls.

Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.

Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.

Builds stable working relationships internally.

Creative, innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making skills

Clear understanding of basic principles, theories, and concepts.

Clear understanding of industry practices and standards.

Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
