Do you want to join a consumer insights team that uses actionable insights and recommendations that drive marketing strategy? You will be responsible for monitoring shifts in industry trends in marketing, pricing, targeting, product offerings and emerging consumer needs and behavior. You will forecast future market conditions and work with the appropriate teams in Marketing and throughout Global Retail Markets to identify and address future business opportunities and challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the marketing lead for various syndicated research studies including JDP, ComScore, Simmons and summarize trends and potential impacts to strategy
  • Monitor public announcements, industry reports, earnings calls, industry events/conferences, and internal reporting of each competitor and synthesize any new business dynamics or changes in strategy
  • Implement proprietary research and tracking studies to monitor insurance and consumer trends
  • Monitor consumer trends (outside of insurance) including purchase channel, media consumption, consumer spend, employment rates, employment type, income, home and auto ownership.
  • Track emerging market place trends including cryptocurrency, shared Economy, demographic shifts, privacy legislation, income inequality, urbanization and others to highlight potential impact to insurance or new product offerings
  • Identify and monitor emerging consumer trends in insurance including new product offerings, shopping rates, carrier satisfaction and customer communication channels that may impact how we approach product innovation, business strategy, or marketing
  • Build cross-functional relationships across several Global Retail Market teams to identify relevant trends and link Marketing strategy to Business strategy
  • Work closely with insights and trends partners to gather current competitive strategy and performance
  • Partner with internal teams and external data sources to create and maintain a comprehensive view of each competitor including new business lines, targeting, media spend, business performance, market share, pricing strategy and profitability to predict likely future competitive actions and potential implications to our marketing and/or business strategy
  • Apply highly advanced principles and concepts to lead the selection of the best primary and secondary research methodology.
  • Lead the analysis and interpretation of results, utilizing a broad understanding of statistical concepts; present findings, conclusions, and recommendations for actionable business plans that will address complex business problems and/or size market opportunities utilizing subject matter expertise based on an in-depth understanding of the business
  • Conduct long term planning and handles large-scale marketing studies that will determine the future direction of marketing
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality of deliverables, and negotiate contracts for the purchase of additional services from market research vendors

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with at least 10 years of business experience applying market research and database marketing analysis to business planning. Advanced business degree preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of different types of marketing research, including the benefits and limitations of each. Broad knowledge of marketing databases and querying tools.
  • Expertise in SPSS or SAS statistical program.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex research results, apply them to business issues, and make strategic recommendations for action. Management experience desired.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to present in a clear, compelling fashion.
  • Proven ability to partner with and influence key business partners across diverse groups
  • Eager to contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment. Able to remain optimistic and positive in the face of setbacks. Curious and eager to learn and try new things.
