At Mobile Platform Solutions (MPS), we are looking for passionate UX designer to share their creative vision and to build applications and services for Samsung's array of devices spanning mobile phones, speakers, wearables, etc. In this position, you will join a collaborative team of world-class researchers, designers and engineers in the field of AI/ML, Fintech, blockchain, IAM & IOT technologies, with emphasis on computer vision, AR/VR/XR, Enterprise AI, mobile security and privacy.

Position Summary:

You'll be the ultimate creative facilitator, working collaboratively with a cross-disciplinary team to help users achieve their goals and fuse business insights with users' needs to craft great user experience. You will own and drive a suite of products and provide leadership to other designers. Day to day tasks will include demonstrating & facilitating Design Thinking methodology-based exercises; creating design proposal based on both user and business insights; defining design principles & information architecture, developing detail level work flows and wireframes.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop E2E design workflows, information architecture, wireframes, rapid prototypes, visual mockups.
  • Transform strategic direction into high quality design output from total systems to individual elements.
  • Contribute to product strategy discussion and develop concepts aligned with product goals and strategy
  • Articulate design thinking with strong rationale, based on market trends and usage data
  • Develop high-level creative concepts for projects; help to refine and further develop these concepts into complete, functional design systems.
  • Work with UX researchers to design and observe user studies and translate research findings into insights and design improvements.
  • Create and present design solutions and strategies that bring the user story to life for a wide audience, including cross-functional teams.
  • Apply the best design aesthetics under tight deadlines, while effectively balancing between business needs and customer benefit.
  • Provide leadership & mentorship to other designer(s) in the team.
Experience Requirements:
  • 10+ years of demonstrable experience in designing software experiences in an agile, startup-like product development environment.
  • Strong portfolio that demonstrates solving complex problems that meet the needs of the users while supporting clearly identified business as well as core skills across a variety of categories and formats.
  • Experience facilitating design thinking workshops.
  • Fluency with common design software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Keynote, Sketch) for the creation of visual design artifacts and presentations.
  • Agility in creating digital sketches/prototypes from lo-fi to hi-fi, to help design thinking process as well as communicate concepts to team members.
  • Diverse project experience in concept ideation, UI concepting/wireframing, design strategy, and working across multiple form factors.
  • Eloquent verbal/written communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to successfully articulate design concepts to your team and stakeholders.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate brand, service and product requirements into holistic systems that effectively communicate.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI, or equivalent.
