The Salesforce.org Industry Solutions team is responsible for driving industry product and solution strategy, creating industry-specific products and solutions to support customer success, and working with the partner ecosystem to extend the platform to meet specific requirements. The team works collaboratively across all Salesforce lines of business and supports all geographies, globally. We are looking for a talented and passionate Lead Solution Architect possessing a deep understanding of Higher Education market problems, the Salesforce platform, and the extended partner ecosystem, to support Education Cloud Industry Solutions Directors by bringing together Salesforce products, services, and partners to create technical solutions that will drive impact for our customers.

The Lead Solution Architect will be required to be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about leading discovery, strategy, and execution to create effective, market-ready solutions aligned to our Education Cloud strategy. This includes gathering requirements, customer outreach, and working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to align technical solutions with sales, marketing, product, and customer success priorities and initiatives.

This role will report to the Vice President, Student Success and will be a key member of a growing, innovative technology team.

Your Impact

  • Understand market requirements and determine which Salesforce and third party technologies to leverage in customer driven architectures, based upon product knowledge, industry experience, industry standard frameworks and Salesforce methodologies.

  • Create solutions, blueprints, and reference architectures that empower our sales teams and maximize customer value through using the breadth of the Salesforce solutions available to align and package the right solutions with the right market problem

  • Synthesize diverse sets of data to educate the team on product and solution priorities and decisions

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop industry specific, repeatable propositions and go to market strategies

  • Present at educational sessions and industry summits to existing customers, partners, and internal audiences

  • Critical Skills

  • 5+ years experience in either software, systems, or enterprise architecture disciplines

  • Expert understanding of Salesforce products, AppExchange partners, partner consulting capabilities, and solutions

  • Experience working with the Education Data Architecture, common Higher Ed system integrations, and data standards

  • Knowledge of Blockchain technology and concepts

  • Strong management and business skills required, along with the ability to present to and collaborate with different levels of management including executive leadership

  • Highly organized, ability to coordinate activities to drive alignment and attainment of goals

  • Skillful in collaboration and diplomacy to ensure smooth working relationships across matrixed teams

  • Able to multitask in a fast paced environment and exercise a high degree of initiative in resolving issues and developing process enhancement recommendations

  • Excellent team player able to work with virtual and global cross functional teams and lead through influence

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Comfortable and effective in small group and large group presentations. Experience and a proven track of participating in industry forums and critical sales cycles. Compelling and accurate writing ability

  • Up to 20% travel including occasional international travel required
