Our global teams solve complex problems through teamwork, invention, and iteration to create original ideas that drive technology and society forward.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesPosition will be hybrid remote/onsite work model based in RTP/Raleigh, NC.The Lead Data Architect will join a highly collaborative team of architects and developers creating architecture and design deliverables to produce applications for IBM's Services business. Using industry design principles, the architects will be responsible to identify the right architectural patterns and technology to establish high-performing, and highly scalable solutions. As a team lead, this position will direct and review the work performed by the Data team across the operational, reporting and analytics implementations. This position will guide and be an assurance point for good data management practices across the team and solution.Responsibilities:+ Leads / runs the data team of 4 (Lead DA, DA, DA/DBA, IM)+ Drives data support of application releases (requirements analysis, data analysis, solution definition, data modeling, meta-data definition, and query development)+ Designs and drives the evolution of the data models and flows across operations, reporting and analytics+ Coordinates with source applications for Master and Reference data+ Participates in identification and definition of analytics+ Owns the Data Quality mission+ Drives optimization and performance improvement of databases+ Participates in regular solution design sessions to analyze options and benefits+ Ensures proper solution documentation is produced using standard Architecture deliverablesRequired Technical and Professional Expertise+ Experience performing logical data modeling and physical data modeling.+ Experience in data analysis and data mapping+ Experience creating advanced SQL (multiple joins, subselects, case, decode, and other constructs)+ Experience performing problem analysis and data investigation+ Familiarity with IBM DB2, Cloudant, Mongo and other DBMS+ Experience with Postman or similar API drivers+ Experience in creating, reading and manipulating JSON structures+ Problem solving, interpersonal, and time management skills to handle high-pressure, complex situations effectively+ Demonstrated communication skills, and the ability to work directly with clients/customers+ Highly motivated by team successPreferred Technical and Professional ExpertiseSee required professional and technical expertiseBachelors in Computer Science or related field.No sponsorship available.About Business UnitThe Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) owns IBM's IT strategy and provides the tools, workstations, devices, and infrastructure that IBMers use to do their jobs every day.
