We are looking for a Leader in Software DevelopmentProduct Development that is linked to a physical piece of hardware, like sensors on manufacturing equipment. Your software developments will be integrated and connect to hardware (not chips, routers, switches) but manufacturing equipment. Startup experience is a must and must be able to not only manage a team but do the actual work as well. being a startup you will wear lot of hats. Jacob Darr Associates is a recruiting firm that specializes in Software and Manufacturing and has been exclusively retained to launch this search. Director, a Software developer who will be responsible for the IoT embedded firmware, cloud platform frontend and backend software, data science, DevOps and QA deliverables. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with experience in building and growing software development team. As a Head of software engineering, you will play a critical hands-on role in providing strategic, architectural guidance and influence the development and realization of a technology vision across our water analytics platform and services. Key Responsibilities Lead in the engineering vision, artifacts and best practices for our IoT embedded sensors, cloud-based offerings. Lead and guide the design and architecture of the analytics platform and services that are consumed by our customers. Lead and guide the design and architecture of next-generation architecture for the platform software and IoT sensor software Attract and hire world-class talent and get them integrated with the rest of the team across multiple sites. Help employees grow through career development, coaching, and mentoring while guiding senior contributors to maximize their potential. You'll provide a clear path for progression through personal development plans, defining goals, perform evaluations, and collaborate with employees on their objectives. Understand customers technical business requirements to produce a comprehensive plan for technical architectures, deployment plans, etc. Collaborate with Hardware, RD, Operation and Support team in building durable systemsapplications and ensuring a low MTTR (mean time to resolution). Be a hands-on technical architect who will lead the team from the front and be able to inspire thought leadership in the team. Help Define, communicate and enforce designcoding standards for our distributed services. Technical governance and design review. Skills Qualifications Minimum 10 years of experience in software development experience and 5+ years of experience in managing engineering teams Technically oriented with a strong understanding of IoT, Cloud, SaaS, Blockchain technologies, particularly IoT hardware sensor solutionscapabilitiesuse cases. 5+ years of hands-on industry work experience designing and building large-scale data, machine learning, and analytics applications and pipelines that are well-designed, cleanly coded, well-documented, operationally stable, and timely delivered Experience working in a start-up is a must. Must have a proven record of success in a start-up environment where nothing comes easy and nothing works as planned. Experience in building and leading DevOps CICD pipelines on the public cloud environments, preferably AWS with various Continuous Integration tools. Strong analytical skills and consultative skill set to analyze current usage, customer goals, and recommend actions that drive success for customers Strong prioritization and problem-solving skills, including issue tracking, triaging and crisis management. A positive attitude and professional behavior while advocating a team approach to the business. Experience building and maintaining strong, long-lasting relationships. Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and efficiently at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level. Must have excellent attention to detail. Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, high growth environment. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and organization skills. Previously successful in team building, scaling, management, coaching, and mentorship. Ability to work effectively and meet objectives without day-to-day direction Experience with JIRA or other issue tracking software Experience working in an Agile development environment (ScrumXP) MS or BS degree or equivalent.
