Responsibilities Builds data governance strategies, creating uniform taxonomies, models and controls at a global scale, improving the consistency, timeliness, quality, security and delivery of data. Maintains a technology road map that describes a journey to modern tool sets that unlock access to our data in support of our digital initiatives, maintains and enhances security and privacy, and reduces overall operating costs over time. Develop "blueprints" for the manipulation and storage of various data types in order to accelerate development of systems and encourage re-use. Design and develop a core set of shared data services that can be consumed by all divisions. Promote reuse and leveraging of existing software components and services. Bring together and lead a "guild" of likeminded professionals across MMC that unlocks the size and scale of talent within the organization. Work across all divisions to build and maintain standards for master data. Collaborates with data architects across the enterprise and provides recommendations on frameworks and solutions to address business needs. Contribute directly to enterprise wide projects.
Knowledge and skills Understands business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state), and determines corresponding data requirements and change requirements to drive the organization's targeted business outcomes. A comprehensive understanding of regulated environments, systems security and privacy. Has a comprehensive understanding of contemporary database and analytics platforms including Hadoop, AWS EMR, Azure HDInsight, Mongo, Tableau and Talend. Has experience of a "digital business" and direct experience of Agile and Devops delivery. Has experience with large public cloud providers such as Azure, AWS or GCP including their PaaS services. An appreciation of emerging technology themes such as AI/ML, IoT, Blockchain and RPA. A reputation for personal innovation and in creating environments where others can innovate. Able to operate at scale and with senior stake holders. Working collaboratively with peers from all divisions across MMC, able to lead discussions, build consensus and encourage adoption. A comprehensive understanding of regulated environments, systems security and privacy. Has a delivery focused approach. A lifelong learner with an appetite for change.
