The Role

Lumen is on the leading edge of providing network, data, and IT services. This highly visible role will provide an opportunity to showcase the technical background, business acumen, and leadership experience as the Director of Robotic Process Automation and Blockchain Development. This role will have overall responsibility for providing end to end strategy, design, implementation, development and governance for RPA and Blockchain implementation across the enterprise. Additionally, position is responsible for CAPEX/OPEX budget tracking/planning as well as monthly KPI tracking/reporting to senior leadership.

The Main Responsibilities
  • Align strategic efforts with business capability improvement and develop technology roadmaps that address technology investments in collaboration with corporate goals.
  • Recommend and implement governance, guidelines, standards, methodologies, tools, priorities and approaches for the overall Robotic Process Automation implementation at Lumen.
  • Provide input to program scopes with respect to capital requirements for infrastructure, software and resources required to execute the RPA projects.
  • Developing extensive cross functional relationships within organizations to lead to maximization of business growth efforts.
  • Participate in Technology Strategy planning and prioritization process to maintain and influence the end-to-end view of our technology assets and capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of technology infrastructure, architecture, and security as it relates to artificial intelligence and RPA
  • Hands-On implementation experience with UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism or other RPA software.
  • Develop an overall blockchain ecosystem implementation strategy.
  • In partnership with the IT delivery and Enterprise Architecture, formulate and execute a strategy to drive adoption of distributed ledgers.
  • Engage directly with the business teams, understand their specific business and technology challenges in the area of distributed ledgers integration in new products and services.
  • Utilize cross-functional participation to ensure that equipment and processes are compatible with the entire value stream.
  • Identifies and drive action for continuous improvement and cost efficiency.
  • Manage and mentor team members within the RPA & Blockchain organization. Duties include relevant human resource and development aspects, annual reviews, training and career development of employees.
  • Good organizational, project management and presentation skills; with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization, as well as with suppliers and vendors.
What We Look For in a Candidate
  • 10+ years of technical experience in telecom and software development.
  • 5+ years in a technology leadership capacity at a Director level and operational experience in leading teams with a proven ability to align technology initiatives with business goals.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • Knowledge of Data Analytics, Cognitive / AI, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP) with preference given for industry experience as well as a thorough understanding of relational databases, SQL and web services
  • Demonstrated experience successfully implementing change within complex organizations.
  • Experience developing Hyperledger based solutions and passion for getting hands dirty with code.
  • Experience in managing a cross-discipline team and working in a highly matrix environment and with IT leadership in an environment of contesting interests.
  • Proven success architecting and developing complex solutions related to telecom leverage of API frameworks and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead high-profile, complex projects and implement with the minimum disruption to end users.
  • Familiarity of capitalization requirements, understanding business financials.
  • Proficient understanding of the technology value proposition and how technology can enable business growth.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with the ability to balance, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
