DescriptionDirector - Digital Operating ModelThe challenge of today's IT environment is to be able to rapidly develop and release new capabilities while keeping stability across the environment. Various rates of change in business need require an understanding of how value is defined, services are architected and consumed, and how workflows across delivery to meet the needs of the business and consumer.ISG (Information Services Group) (Nasdaq: III) is a leading global technology research and advisory firm. A trusted business partner to more than 700 clients, including more than 75 of the world's top 100 enterprises, ISG is committed to helping corporations, public sector organizations, and service and technology providers achieve operational excellence and faster growth. The firm specializes in digital transformation services, including automation, cloud and data analytics; sourcing advisory; managed governance and risk services; network carrier services; strategy and operations design; change management; market intelligence and technology research and analysis. Founded in 2006, and based in Stamford, Conn., ISG employs more than 1,300 digital-ready professionals operating in more than 20 countries-a global team known for its innovative thinking, market influence, deep industry and technology expertise, and world-class research and analytical capabilities based on the industry's most comprehensive marketplace data.Position OverviewISG's Digital Operating Model Consultant helps our clients visualize the future state way of working, define how the organization will work, and support the transformation and adoption. In this role, you will help clients envision their future operating model, often product-oriented, define the right governance and strategic functions, and create a flexible model for IT to operate in an agile, flexible, resilient model. You will help them design and realize a way of working that allows them to achieve product-specific business value, learn how to continuously iterate and improve that value by incorporating real customer feedback and insights, and successfully define organization and culture change strategies needed to lead the client through the significant change needed by both the IT and Business organizations. The Digital Operating Model practice leverages ISG core frameworks and delivery approaches for operating model discovery, strategy, design, and implementation where appropriate. These frameworks and approaches are used to help the client successfully recognize how they should operate in the future, what people, process and technology is needed to enable that future state, and how to transform. This often includes a movement from function-based siloes using a short-lived "project" delivery approach to more Business and IT cross-functional teams delivering in more persistent teams "products" approach. This shift, from project to product, must contemplate all components of the operating model to succeed. For IT organizations, this means helping them create a digital backbone and shared components that enable product/persistent teams to adopt and use these services quickly, mindfully, and sustainably. For software development and DevOps teams and the business, this means helping to develop, operate and improve the digital products that engage their end customers and partners.Through deep professional services engagements, the Digital Operating Model practice helps our clients define their target operating model strategy, including defining requirements and changes to their existing products/capabilities, delivery models, processes, people/workforce, and the business case to transform. We then coach and facilitate the execution, including the culture change, working with their leaders and teams to ensure that the model is successful and sustainable.Role & ResponsibilitiesOur practice consultants utilize their experience in Operating Model Design, product Management, Agile, DevOps and modern technology delivery models (as-a-Service, automation, etc.) along with ISG design methodologies to enable a client to transform their operating model to a flexible yet cost effective agile enterprise.Typical engagements the Digital Operating Model Director will lead and be involved in are:Workshops to inform clients about digital, operating model, enterprise agility, sourcing / provider ecosystems and organizational market trends and developmentsAssessment of existing operating model and delivery environmentTarget operating model design (capabilities/products, value streams, delivery models, shared service functions, partner ecosystem, organization / teams / skills, technology landscape (at a very high level), governance and performance management of the IT estateIT and Digital Strategy developmentIT Governance and decision rights design & implementationPartner ecosystem strategiesSkills assessment and gap mitigation strategiesThe Human Side of Digital TransformationChange leadership and culture changeOrganization design (including logical design, sizing, role definition, and organization structure and change)Coaching and facilitation in transformation to the new target operating modelProvides consultation services to clients related to IT operating model including enterprise agility, DevOps and product-aligned delivery.Support sales in the development of delivery solutions, including representing the delivery practice to prospective clients during the sales processParticipates as an engagement lead and primary delivery point of client relationship and contact on one or more engagements, working independently and/or leading a team of advisors to complete deliverables.Gains an understanding of client's current situation and environment by gathering needed information and using appropriate frameworks and models in the development of tailored material for decision-making purposes, develops client specific operating model design materials and conducts engagement delivery in both workshop and presentation style at all organizational levels.Uses expertise in collaboration with the team, including the client, to develop solutions specific to the client's identified problem and/or objective.Participates in operating model design, organizational design, and education within the areas of modern IT operations, including modern delivery models such as Agile and DevOps practices and techniques in a product-oriented environment.Develops and sustains client relationships, identifying opportunities and representing ISG capabilities across all practices.Supports the internal ISG practice team in development of skills, continuous improvement of delivery methods and sales collateral, and development of market and social artifacts to promote the practice and improve revenue generation The Digital Operating Model Director leads one or multiple operating model engagements, with a small to mid-size teams of ISG consultants based on the specific engagement.
