SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None. SUMMARY The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of Fresno EOC's information systems' databases. The DBA provides technical expertise in data analysis, architecture, design, implementation, and maintenance of database management systems that support the Agency's vision and program applications. Additional responsibilities include reporting, data input and output, technology management, and end-user training and support. Assist in the achievement of the agency's vision, "For Those We Serve," by empowering individuals who thrive as healthy, self-sufficient and contributing members of our communities. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Designs and documents database architecture. Conducts data analysis for all Fresno EOC programs. Performs data architecture analysis. Assesses malfunctions of hardware and/or software applications for determining appropriate actions to maintain computer, network, and database operations. Builds database scheme, tables, procedures and permissions. Creates, tests, and executes data management languages. Establishes interfaces to various software platforms for data analysis. Develops database utilities and automated reporting and analyzes reporting for accuracy and reasonableness of results. Analyzes and sustains capacity and performance requirements. Monitors systems and platforms for availability. Under the direction of the Senior Network Administrator, oversees backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover for database applications. Performs maintenance operations daily, weekly and monthly on SQL/Access servers and databases, and information systems for ensuring efficient program operations. Performs database backups and restorations and recovers corrupted databases. Evaluates and recommends new database technologies. Implements and maintains database security and encryption. Develops, manages and tests database and information system backup and recovery plans. Develops standards and policies for data entry and ensures compliance. Prepares written materials for documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information. Prepares and distributes reports, including but not limited to weekly and monthly status reports to the IT Director. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To execute this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science preferred. EXPERIENCE Minimum of two years administering database platform specific advanced features (e.g. blockchain, clustering, encryption, logical/physical standby, ETL, replication required. Minimum of three years conducting general SQL/Access database analysis, architecture and administration tasks preferred. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Certifications in MCSE DBA preferred Experience in community action agency environment is preferred. Must understand blockchain concepts and implementation of technology. Strong technical background in platform application and deep understanding of relational database using SQL & MS-Access. Data-driven, detail oriented and result oriented in terms of customizing Salesforce and developing queries. Experience with data compliance and dashboard administration using Salesforce. Advanced knowledge and work experience in Salesforce and MS-Access. Data-driven, detail oriented and result oriented in terms of customizing Salesforce and developing queries. Advanced knowledge and work experience in Salesforce and MS-Access Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related business software. Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills. Willing to work non-traditional hours and days to meet the needs of this position. Maintain a valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, adequate auto insurance as required by State law, and insurability by agency carrier for those driving agency vehicles.
