As a Data Science Engineer, you'll analyze, design and implement solutions based off of a variety of data sets. You'll apply your extensive technical expertise to provide specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. What you bring to the table:
Bachelor of Science in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) related field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree. Agile experience preferred
Technical expertise in all areas of data science including data mining, analysis, modeling, predicting, and presenting.
Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one discipline/field with a working knowledge in multiple adjacent disciplines/fields
Represent organization as prime technical contact on contracts and projects

Duties and Tasks:
Designs and implements processes, experiments and prototyping solutions associated with a variety of data sets used for data mining, analysis, modeling, predicting, and presenting
Participates in the creation of various machine learning tools and processes to discover information hidden in vast amounts of data delivering better insights into data patterns through algorithms, dashboards, and queries
Uses advanced statistical and reporting methods to develop solutions associated with large data sets
Finds meaningful insight from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments
Applies the engineering principles and techniques of computer science and statistics to develop data driven, evidence based, cross validated solutions to assigned projects
Collaborates with project leaders and other professionals to define data associated requirements
Interacts with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments
Receives general instructions and guidance from immediate supervisor
Contributes and accountable for the completion of assigned projects and tasks
May provide work direction to other employees as technical lead. Participates in internal reviews
Travel may be required
Security clearance may be required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Professional experience with data integration, data visualization, big data and programming skills, possessing a demonstrated understanding of artificial intelligence or machine learning with the ability to apply these skills under real world conditions
Very solid knowledge of either data mining tools, statistical pattern recognition, machine learning algorithms, predictive modeling, and scripting
Demonstrates proficient judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining analytical solutions
Capable of working on problems of diverse scope requiring extensive analysis of data and its evaluation
Experience working with and creating data architectures for distributed data
Experience with programming and scripting languages
Experience querying databases and using computer tools and programs
Experience using statistical computer languages to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
Background in data mining or statistical analysis or pattern recognition or predictive modeling skills
Able to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation
Solid written and verbal communications skills
The successful candidate will have knowledge in the following areas:
Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence
Python Coding
MATLAB modeling and simulation
Although this position is for a Data Science Engineer, an engineer with a multi-disciplined background (including systems engineering, knowledge or RF, knowledge of antenna design, and testing) would be a strong plus.
