Job SummaryThe Cyber Security Analyst I is an entry level position in the Overstock security team. This individual will complete tasks designed to ensure security of the organization's systems and information assets. This will include protection against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction of said systems and assets. They will also assist in determining the needs of individual departments, implement policies and procedures, and track compliance through the organization.Persons filling this role will have basicknowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures within the information securityand/or information technologyfield. They will rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of theirjob.They mayalsowork under immediate supervision. Theanalyst's responsibilities are continually expanding as they progress in the organization andeventsor incidents increase.TheCyberSecurity Analyst I must continually adapt to stay current with the security space. Analysts may need to research new security technologies and advise of risk and efficiencies as it relates to the environment.Job ResponsibilitiesResearch and respond to alerts or events that are violations of security policygenerated by endpoint, network, vulnerability scan, or other architectural visibility toolsServe backup rule in security tool administration and work to take over subject-matter expert roles with more experiencePerform periodic IT systems risk assessments and control validationAssist in identifying existing internal and external security vulnerabilitiesAssist in identifying mitigation techniques around reducing security risk surfaceAssist in the remediation of issues through self and independent assessmentsResearch and respond to malware and network security incidents which may include computer forensics, reviewing packet captures, web activity,antivirusand enterprise malware detection logs, and SIEM log parsingWork with appropriate teams to keep common exploited applicationsup-to-datewithin the client environmentHelp manage, support and upgradesecurity Linux and Windows server environmentsHandle user security requests as neededPerform other duties as required and assigned by manager and upper managementFollow legal policies as directedJob Requirements1-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area2+ years of experience on a corporate helpdesk, security,networkor IT Systems team.SkillsExperience with any of the following systems/products also a plus: enterprise antivirus management,endpoint data protection,data loss prevention, malware detection, intrusion detection/prevention, penetration testing/vulnerability scanning, web application firewall, SIEM log analysisEducationAssociates or higher degree in Computer Science or Information Systemsor equivalent experienceCertificationsOne or more certifications preferred, in: Security+, Network+, WindowsConfiguration/Desktop Admin, Linux+, Apple Certified Support, A+Who We Are:Just a few minutes from Salt Lake City and Utah's ski slopes, Overstock is an original resident of "Silicon Slopes", one of the fastest growing technology hubs in the country.
