This individual will play a critical role in establishing credibility and confidence with IBM's prospective clients by demonstrating and proving IBM's value through its products, services, and thought leadership. This person will work closely with prospective clients, leveraging his/her technical aptitude and drive to envision, determine and communicate how IBM can best serve its clients' unique needs. Client Technical Specialists are technical consultants and advisors to clients, IBM sales teams and/or IBM Business Partners. They understand the client's business requirements, technical requirements and/or competitive landscape. They provide technical sales support which may include: collaborate with IBM sales teams to define, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions; deliver Proof of Concept; develop and deliver technical education via workshops; support critical situations; answer technical questions; and identifying additional opportunities in current engagements. When engaged for a specific opportunity or project, they are responsible for the technical accuracy of the proposed solution. As a consultative, client-facing, technical sales professional, you will be guided by IBM's purpose - to be essential to its clients - actively engaging clients to develop the trust and credibility to help them grow their businesses by solving strategic and tactical business problems with IBM's proven cognitive and cloud technology solutions. Successful candidate will work with our Public Cloud clients and will focus to scale by engaging and supporting IBM's eco-system of partners and providers. Required Technical and Professional Expertise + Experienced level skill of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) or Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) + IaaS: Bare Metal Servers, Virtual Server Instances, Virtual Private Cloud, Cloud Object Storage, VMware, IBM Power Virtual Servers, Networking (Layer 2/Layer 3), Operating Systems, Server Architectures (x86, Power, etc.). + PaaS: Any flavor of Kubernetes, Red Hat Openshift, Cloud Databases, Serverless Code (eg, IBM Code Engine) - all which is directed to app modernization (Developer Experiences), DevOps Tool Chains, Runtimes, Monitoring and Logging. + Experienced level vertical industry knowledge of Industrial Market (Automotive, Aerospace, Chemical & Petroleum, Electronics, and Industrial Products). Ability to articulate business models, industry trends, and technical solutions accelerating their business model. + Develop a strong working relationship with the client's technical staff/C Level Execs to be able to gain their trust and credibility through your deep technical knowledge and subject matter expertise. + Able to envision opportunities, create strong value propositions, design technical solution(s) with the clients' business drivers and demonstrate unique value. + Ability to deliver technical accelerators (such as technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, proof of concepts, technical Q&A discussions, etc.) and knowing when to team with additional resources to win the technical business. + Ability to work in a matrixed model with multiple peers and multiple leaders. Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise + 5 Years' experience in Enterprise Technical Sales. + 2 Years' experience in Lead data center operations, locations, connectivity. + 2 Years' experience in containerizing Legacy applications into cloud model applications.
