More Than a Job

We're hiring for an Audit Staff Associate - Digital Currency for our New York City office. Friedman is proud to be at the forefront of this emerging industry, providing digital currency services to both domestic and international clients. Our expertise enables digital currency and distributed ledger technology companies, from start-ups to mature businesses, knowing that their accounting, reporting, and tax compliance requirements are properly managed and assessed. Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:
  • Perform audits, reviews and compilations for clients in various industries including financial intuitions, hedge funds, broker dealers, SEC, digital currency and blockchain
  • Coordinate the day-to-day duties of planning, fieldwork and wrap-up
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and evaluate internal controls
  • Communicate with Partner and/or Manager on work status and client issues that arise
  • Perform a detailed review of team's workflow and monitor that tasks are assigned and completed on a timely basis
  • Takes a lead role in client and team meetings and contributes new ideas and strategic initiatives
  • Keep up to date on industry laws and regulations
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Eager to expand knowledge & research related subject matters
  • Experience/knowledge of Github and text editors (Notepad, Visual Studio Code etc.)
  • Experience/knowledge of HTTP and/or API's General knowledge or exposure to different methods of storing digital currencies: (e.g. Ledger, Trezor, KeepKey, Electrum, Exchanges, BitGo, Self-storage)
  • General knowledge of crypto currencies (e.g. Wallets, addresses, seed phrases, block explorers, exchanges, improvement protocols)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g. knowing how to utilize Index/Match, Pivot Tables, Maneuver large data sets, Sum vs. Subtotal, Cut vs. Copy and understand reasoning behind using different formulas)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and/or strong interest working within the Digital Currency industry
  • Master's degree in Accounting
  • CPA License or on track to obtain
  • 1+ years' experience in a similar role overseeing, planning, and reviewing engagements; supervising staff, interacting with clients and reviewing audits, reviews and compilations for clients in digital currency or related field
  • Software Experience - CCH ProSystem, Microsoft Office 365
