Job Description:

The School of Management at Binghamton University (State University of New York at Binghamton) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Management Information Systems starting mid-August 2022, subject to budgetary approval.

Job Description: A suitable candidate should have cutting edge research agenda on one or more of the following: information systems leadership, governance and the value of IS, IT security, IT in healthcare, IS design, adoption and diffusion, data analytics, social media, gamification, or digital platforms. The teaching component (2 + 2) requires delivering required/elective courses in management information systems at the undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels. The ideal candidate will also be able to develop practical courses on IT security, data analytics, and any recent topics (like Blockchain, etc.).

The School of Management is AACSB accredited and is nationally recognized for its success in developing future leaders of business. The school offers bachelors, masters, and Ph.D. programs.

Located in the Southern Tier region of upstate New York, Binghamton is 3 hours from New York City; nearby are Albany, Ithaca, Syracuse, the Finger Lakes, and the Catskill and Adirondack Mountains. Binghamton is a low cost-of-living area of approximately 200,000 residents. The community offers a rich cultural life, professional sports, and outdoor recreational opportunities.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in MIS by the time of appointment (mid-August 2022). The candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to publish in the top MIS journals, as well as the ability to deliver top-quality classroom teaching. Faculty also participate in curriculum development and assessment, and engage in other service duties for the school and the college both internally and externally.
