The Greehey School of Business at St. Mary's University invites applications for an assistant professor of Finance and Quantitative Management (Information Systems) with a start date of August 2019. The desired applicant should hold a Ph.D. or an equivalent terminal degree from an AACSB accredited University in Information Systems or a related area (e.g., Data Analytics, Blockchain, Fintech, etc.). ABD candidates with an expected completion date within one year of appointment will be considered.
The position is housed in the Finance and Quantitative Management Department of the Greehey School of Business. The Department has 10 full-time faculty who serve two majors. In 2015, the School introduced a new major in Accounting and Data Analytics, which is growing. In 2019, it plans to offer a new track focusing on the business application of Fintech and Blockchain technology. Faculty in the department also teach core courses common to all business majors. At the graduate level, faculty members provide instruction to students enrolled in the School's two MBA programs.
The Greehey School of Business is AACSB accredited. At the undergraduate level, it offers a BBA with majors in Accounting, Accounting and Data Analytics, Finance & Risk Management, Management, Marketing, and International Business. It also offers a track in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. At the graduate level, the school offers an 18-month cohort based Greehey MBA, and an MBA for Professionals (MBA-P). Class sizes are small with an average faculty to student ratio of 1:17. San Antonio is one of the top ten fastest growing cities in the country with the San Antonio-Austin corridor described as the "New Major Metropolis" by major news media. The School has an excellent reputation for academic quality and a very successful alumni base that is engaged with the School and the University.
