What you?ll be doing...
As the Manager on the Data Analytics team, you will be responsible for analysis, insights, observations, and decision support for our business leaders in Finance, Marketing, and Network. As a data analyst/scientist at Verizon, you'll create reports, visualization charts, and statistical models to identify trends which will improve revenue, profitability and customer experience.
The tools used to perform these advanced analytics functions will vary depending on the nature of the request, but will likely include various statistical packages such as SAS, R, and Python. Data resides across many systems and therefore experience in SQL (Teradata and/or Oracle) is required and Hadoop experience is preferred. Emerging data visualization technologies and experience in Tableau is also beneficial.
+ Independently managing analytic projects of intermediate to advanced sophistication from design to resolution with minimal oversight.
+ Leveraging emerging technologies (Big Data, Distributed Ledger Technology) and advanced analytic techniques to create the statistical models required to identify conditions that have the potential to affect customer experience.
+ Designing, developing and implementing sophisticated data analytic solutions to ensure the ongoing integrity of our revenue stream and customer experience.
+ Designing and developing standard and ad hoc reporting based on business requirement needs.
+ Directing and coordinating the process to extract, normalize, analyze, review and report with respect to data mining efforts related finance operations.
What we?re looking for...
You believe that solid data should be behind every important decision. You are a numbers person but you also have a strategic mindset. You bring both business perspective and an understanding of the marketplace?and not just theory and numbers. You have a knack for understanding and visualizing just the right way to share data and practical insights so that people can understand. People trust you based upon your thoughtful and thorough analyses.
You?ll need to have:
+ Bachelor?s degree or four or more years of work experience.
+ Six or more years of relevant work experience.
+ Product management or consulting experience.
+ Behavior/predictive analysis and/or data analytics development experience.
Even better if you have:
+ Bachelor?s degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics or Engineering.
+ Master?s degree in a quantitative discipline. Ideally, an MBA.
+ Balanced the needs of multiple stakeholders.
+ Product development or analytics experience in the technology or telecom sector.
+ ANSI SQL, SQL Editor for Oracle experience.
+ 2+ years of experience in statistical programming languages such as R, SAS, SPSS, MatLab.
+ Hadoop and Map/Reduce experience.
+ Familiarity with Distributed Ledger/Bockchain. Ideally Hyperledger, Ethereum, Solidity.
+ Familiarity with data visualization software. Ideally, Tableau, d3 or Qlik.
+ Working knowledge of scripting languages. Ideally, Python or Perl.
+ Business Intelligence Certification (CPBI).
