INTERN PROGRAM DETAILS

Every year, Swiss Re offers internships to a number of bright and highly motivated students, enabling them to benefit from the company's global perspective and to discover the world. A Swiss Re internship can be much more than a temporary job - it can be your first step to a rewarding career. The program is expected to last 10 - 12 weeks, offers competitive salaries, and is offered in various Swiss Re locations.

ABOUT THE ANALYTICS CONSULTANT INTERN POSITION

As an Analytics Consultant Intern you will join a team of Analytics Consultants who work closely with business experts and data scientists to shape and develop solutions that will transform the insurance industry. You will gain exposure to projects that are exploring how cutting edge technology like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing can be applied to solve new and emerging problems for Swiss Re and for our clients.

You will be assigned to specific projects where you will work closely with business leaders and data scientists to frame the business problem, shape the analytics solution, and manage the project. You will also support the Analytics Consulting team in sharing periodic updates with stakeholders to highlight key projects and milestones.

You will join an entrepreneurial global team comprised of technologists and innovation specialists, with diverse technical and business backgrounds, who are passionate about solving the problems of tomorrow. As a part of this global team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues in Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for business students who have a passion for innovation and a desire to work with technical experts and business leaders to drive ideas forward.

No coding experience is required for this position, but ideal candidates will be passionate about tech and innovation, and will have relevant professional experience in areas such as:

* Proposing and securing buy-in on project ideas or initiatives

* Creating and delivering presentations in a formal environment

* Project planning to identify deliverables, timelines, and success metrics

* Design Thinking and Agile product development

Additional Requirements:

* Pursuing a Master's Degree (preferred) or Bachelor's Degree in business management, marketing, or a related discipline

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Strong problem solving skills

* Ability to communicate complex problems with clarity and effectiveness

* Analytical & conceptual skills to understand key business needs and design tailored solutions to solve specific business problems

* Basic understanding of statistical analysis and some familiarity with technical topics such as big data, data science, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and Blockchain.

* Comfortable working with data scientists on technical projects and explaining high-level project goals, status, and milestones to various project stakeholders.

* Team player with a "can do" attitude

* Ability to adapt to a flexible work environment

* Comfortable working with various standard corporate technology tools such as Microsoft Excel and Power Point

* Exceptional academic performance (minimum 3.25 GPA)
